What does it mean to be in Christ?
What it means to be in Christ is so simple, yet so complicated. If you were to ask 10 different people for the answer to his question, you would get 10 different answers. The Lord allows us a lifetime to understand this. Often, we do not live as our identity belongs in Christ. Romans 8 was written to assure us all that we belong in Christ for eternity. “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus… For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.” The life the Holy Spirit has given you frees you from condemnation resulting from your sins.
To spread Christ to those around you and to be united to Christ. To share the knowledge you have of the Lord in order to bring others closer to him. To make a difference in their life because of your relationship with Christ. He gave his son so that our sins were forgotten. His perfect record now becomes our record. We are no longer of the flesh, we are united to Christ. There is a sense of peace knowing that we are forgiven, we have already won.
Having a relationship with Christ, not just praying once a week, or going to Christmas Eve service at Church. But relying on Christ, knowing that he freed us of our sins, and that he loves us all unconditionally. The Lord loves us all, no matter what we do. He forgives us of our sins, and sees the good in all of us. The Lord is amazing. We are undeserving of all he does for us, yet he still does it all. He made us in his perfect image. We must build relationships with Christ, he loves us, cares for us, and believes in us. We must be in Christ the way Romans 8 speaks of. “So now those who belong to Christ Jesus will not be judged.”
