Emmanuel
Emmanuel, God with us
Emmanuel, Emmanuel, God with us
The son of Israel
I love the name of Emmanuel because it reminds us that God will never leave regardless of what’s going on in our lives. This passage occurs in Isaiah 7:14 and again in Matthew1:23, when telling of the coming Messiah. This shows the deity of Christ and the love of God, who was willing to send his son down to fulfill His plan of redemption. He then, after resurrecting, told his followers to wait because the Holy Spirit was about to come into their lives and alter their hearts to focus on serving God.
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Matthew 1:23
Jesus, I pray that you would focus my mind on you and you only. Thank you that you are always with us, and that you came down from heaven and took on flesh to honor your Father’s will. Not only that, but you sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within us and help us to carry out the will of God. I ask that you would continue to reveal yourself more and more every day. Thank you for the cross and for our salvation, Amen.
“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. Ezekiel 36:27
Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. 2 Corinthians 6: 16
