Christ Alone
A widely believed idea is that there are many paths to Heaven. This Universalist belief sounds like a great thought, but instead of a highway to Heaven, the Bible speaks on there only being a one way road to Heaven: Jesus. A widely quoted verse to back up this claim is John 14:6, which says,
I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
In this verse, the idea of solus Christus, or Christ alone, is clearly seen when Jesus states that He is the ONLY way to Heaven; also in Acts, Peter and John testify before the Council that
there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved
Although the idea that no matter what religion you follow, you will still make it to Heaven sounds appealing, the Bible has a much different take on the matter; it speaks very clearly against the thought, and instead tells us that we can only get to Heaven through Jesus’ atoning blood. Therefore, a verse I’m going to leave you with is:
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.- 2 Corinthians 5:21
