If you grew up in the church, you may be familiar or may recognize the hymn “Nothing but the blood of Jesus”. In mid-2016 an Irish band called Rend Collective released their version of this hymn with the name Your Royal Blood. This song bridges the divide between traditional and modern Christianity and reminds us that nothing; but the royal blood of Christ is the only thing that can wash our sin away, redeem us, and fulfill us. The sacrifice that Christ made on the cross two thousand years ago will never lose its power, and the victory won on the cross will last forever. God is good and God is calling the church to be a united body more concerned with what Christ did than what type of music we listen to in church.
