Cherishing the Voice of God

Psalm 119:18

“Open my eyes, that I may see the wondrous things in your law.”

In the Old Testament, God’s voice was revered and cherished. When He spoke, the listener wrote it down with utmost urgency and discipline. These written words would later come together to be our Bible, the most important book of all time and our sole source of guidance in this world. If these words were so important, and they are, why are we not cherishing and writing every syllable that the Lord utters in our direction?

Lord, make us seekers of Your voice and scribes of Your glory.
